About PAN Card Tracking Online
Permanent Account Number (PAN) is a unique 10-character alphanumeric identifier issued by the Income Tax Department of India. It is mandatory for banking, tax filing, investments, business registration and major financial transactions above ₹50,000.
PAN cards are issued through two authorised agencies — NSDL (National Securities Depository Limited) and UTI Infrastructure Technology and Services Limited (UTIITSL). Both agencies dispatch PAN cards via India Post Speed Post after successful verification and printing.
Once dispatched, NSDL sends applicants a 13-digit Speed Post tracking number via SMS and email — typically starting with EA or ED. You can enter this number above to track your PAN card's exact location and expected delivery date.
PAN card delivery typically takes 7–15 working days after dispatch. Metro cities generally receive faster delivery (3–5 days) while remote or rural locations may take up to 15 working days.
| Location Type | Example | Dispatch Agency | Est. Delivery |
|---|---|---|---|
| Metro City | Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore | NSDL / UTI | 3–5 working days |
| State Capital | Lucknow, Jaipur, Bhopal | NSDL / UTI | 4–7 working days |
| District Town | Varanasi, Nashik, Surat | NSDL / UTI | 5–10 working days |
| Small Town | Tier-3 cities and towns | NSDL / UTI | 7–12 working days |
| Rural / Village | Remote areas, villages | NSDL / UTI | 10–15 working days |
* Delivery times are estimates from dispatch date. Holidays and India Post transit conditions may affect actual delivery.
